Are you reading this because you are suffering from a loss of hair? Do you suspect that you have blocked hair follicles, which causes hair loss? If so, you have come to the right place. Read on this article for more information.
First, you should understand how hair follicles that are blocked can cause a decrease in the amount of hair. The hair that grows out of the scalp is known as hair shaft; it is formed by cells that are no longer alive. The part that is alive is the part you don't see; it lies under the scalp. Imagine if the follicle is blocked, how then can the hair push out of the scalp? The hair has a natural tendency to push out of the surface of the scalp as its root is stimulated to growth.
When the hair follicle is blocked, you will notice less hair, growing out. But what are the reasons for blocked follicles anyway? Read on.
If you have an oily scalp, follicles can be blocked by oil due to the over production of oil. Look at the skin on your face; is oiliness a problem for you? It is easy to tell if you have an oily scalp problem; your hair quickly becomes oily and you have to shampoo often.
If oil is what is blocking the follicles, use a good shampoo for oily hair (or scalp) and shampoo as often as need. Then again, not too often, because you do not want to stimulate your scalp to over produce oil; as it is, it is 'over stimulated'. Treating your scalp with loving care will yield you a head with more hair rather than less.
What if your problem is due to a more serious one; such as one that is genetic. Look at your father; does he suffer from baldness? If he does and you are his son, your chance of the same happening to you is very high compared to those who don't have a father with similar problem.
This genetic baldness can cause the follicle to be smaller than normal. You can see how a smaller than normal follicle has a higher chance to be blocked. It can get easily blocked; whether it is by oil or not.
Whatever your case may be; common sense rules. Shampoo regularly; once a week at the minimum for really normal and healthy hair; shampoo at least twice for oily hair. Extremely oily hair may be shampooed at least three times a week. Some people shampoo everyday and that is fine too, especially if your hair is long.
