If you want to take good care of your hair, it is essential to maintain it by washing it everyday, applying conditioner, drying it properly and then putting some moisturizer on it. Plus you should not forget to comb it properly. Brushing is important in washing your hair because you don't want them to dry up entangled. Furthermore, tangled hair has higher tendency of breakage.

Proper maintenance of hair requires that you use the right brush for your hair. There are various hairbrushes available in the market; all of these have specific purposes. The paddle brush for Caucasians, the vent hairbrush for those who wants their hair to dry quickly, the round brush for curly or bushy hair and the cushion brush for those wanting a scalp massage. These are just a few of brush types. You can check the internet and research which brush is right for you. Your hair stylist is also a reliable source of information. He or she knows the type of hair you have, whether it is strong or breaks easily, or which brush works to take good care of your hair.

Once you know which brush you need, the next step would be to look for that brush. There is never a shortage of hairbrushes in department stores. In fact, they actually have a department focused on selling anything related to hair. In this section, you will find gels, moisturizers, shampoo, conditioners, colorants, hair clips, and combs and, of course, hair brushes. They sell them in all sorts of colors and design in a range of sizes.

If the type of brush you want is not present in the department stores, you can simply ask your stylist for information on where to buy the specific brush that you need. Since they work in the "hair" industry, they would definitely know a lot about its ins and outs. They can even tell you where you can have your brush personalized, or where you can buy durable ones. The drawback is that it can be more expensive than brushes in the department stores. Those in Wal-Mart or Target or Foley's are mass produced so they would definitely cost less.

Your last, but not the least option, is through the web. There are several online businesses that include various brushes in their merchandise. You will surely find a wide variety of hairbrushes that you can choose from. You can purchase online with the use of your credit card, or your PayPal account, if you have an account with them. If you don't want to give your personal information online, you can check for merchants that are within your vicinity. Just add the name of your city and state, or country if you live outside the United States.
